In a significant step towards achieving its energy transition objectives, the Indian government has convened a three-day International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH-2023) in New Delhi. The conference, was inaugurated on 5th July 2023 by the Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy. A press release on the conference was issued on the same day.
The conference aims to bring together stakeholders from India and around the world to explore the establishment of a Green Hydrogen ecosystem and develop a systemic approach to global decarbonization goals.
The conference, scheduled from July 5th to 7th, 2023, is being organized at Vigyan Bhawan and has attracted global scientific, policy, academic, and industrial leaders. These experts will engage in discussions on recent advances and emerging technologies in the entire green hydrogen value chain. By fostering dialogue and collaboration, the conference seeks to strengthen the sustainability ecosystem of the sector.
Organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, in partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Office of Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, and the Confederation of Indian Industry, the conference serves as a platform to explore the evolving green hydrogen landscape and innovation-driven solutions.
One of the fundamental aims of the conference is to establish a Green Hydrogen ecosystem that aligns with global decarbonization goals. Discussions will cover various aspects, including hydrogen production, storage, distribution, and downstream applications. Additionally, the conference will address green financing, human resource upskilling, and startup initiatives in the green hydrogen domain.
International best practices in the sector will be shared and learned from during the conference, enabling participants to gain insights and knowledge from successful global initiatives. This exchange of ideas and experiences will facilitate the development of a comprehensive approach to green hydrogen adoption and implementation.
