The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO), in collaboration with the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has promoted organ and tissue donation during the Angdaan Mahotsav campaign. NOTTO organized a National Webinar on Organ and Tissue Donation on 22nd July 2023.

The webinar proved to be a platform for participants from all corners of the country, including medical professionals, students, and other stakeholders, to gain insights from experts in the field of organ transplantation.

The Director General of Health Services, chaired the event, demonstrating the government’s commitment to advancing organ donation in India. With the webinar coinciding with the Organ Donation month of July, the response from participants was overwhelming.

The National Webinar on Organ and Tissue Donation featured six sessions, each focusing on crucial aspects of organ and tissue donation. The sessions included Prevention of Kidney Diseases, Brain Stem Death Declaration, Deceased Donor Management, Prevention of Liver Diseases, Legal Aspects of Organ and Tissue Donation, and Eye Donation and Corneal Transplant. Several experts in the respective fields graced the event with their expertise.

The National Webinar on Organ and Tissue Donation garnered enthusiastic participation from medical and paramedical professionals, students, and stakeholders from various Regional Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisations (ROTTOs/SOTTOs), hospitals, and medical institutions nationwide, who joined the event virtually.

To ensure the widespread dissemination of knowledge and information about organ donation, the recorded webinar is now available for viewing on the official YouTube channel of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. By making the webinar accessible online, NOTTO aims to continue spreading awareness and promoting a positive attitude towards organ donation in the country.
