The National Medical Commission (NMC) has commemorated World Mental Health Day during the Mental Health Conclave. A press release was issued to this effect on 10th October, 2023.
During the conclave the Union Health Minister honoured the best performing states in the Tele MANAS service.
Tele MANAS is the government’s mental health helpline that was launched on 10th October, 2022. The aim of the service is to provide tele-mental health services free of cost all over the country.
By enabling people to seek support for their mental health issues while maintaining anonymity, Tele MANAS aims to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health problems.
