The Central Government has issued a notice calling upon individuals enlisted in the Indian Veterinary Practitioners’ Register to actively participate in the upcoming elections for the Veterinary Council of India, as mandated by the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984.

The Veterinary Council of India plays a pivotal role in regulating and overseeing the veterinary profession in the country. The Council is responsible for setting standards for veterinary education, accrediting veterinary institutions, and ensuring the ethical practice of veterinary medicine. To maintain the Council’s effectiveness and inclusivity, it is crucial that members of the Indian Veterinary Practitioners’ Register participate in the election process.

Under the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Rules, 1985, eligible veterinary practitioners are urged to engage in this democratic process to elect members who will represent their interests and concerns on the Veterinary Council of India.
