The National Medical Commission (NMC) has taken stock of the directives of the Supreme Court of India and has decided to extend the last date for admission to undergraduate courses. This announcement was made through a public notice dated 9th November, 2023.
It may be recalled that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had made a petition to the Supreme Court of India for an extension of the last date for admission to undergraduate courses. Consequently, the Supreme Court had issued directives on this matter. Therefore, in keeping with these directives, the NMC has issued the present announcement for NEET UG 2023 eligible candidates.
All NEET UG 2023 eligible candidates are now informed about the extension of the last date for admission to undergraduate courses. Additionally, a Special Stray Vacancy Round is set to be conducted for the vacant MBBS seats of All India Quota (AIQ) and State Quota.
The Special Stray Vacancy Round is declared as the final round for undergraduate courses for the academic year 2023. As part of the process, details of the vacant AIQ seats can be accessed on the MCC website and candidates are advised to contact state counseling authorities for information on vacant state quota seats.
The extended last date for admission to undergraduate courses is set for November 15, 2023. Moreover, the schedule for the opening of the portal for uploading joined candidates has been extended until November 20, 2023.
