The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has expanded the languages on its Food Safety Compliance System (FoSCoS) portal. A press release on this launch was issued on November 14, 2023.
The portal was initially available only in Hindi and English. However, FSSAI has now made it accessible in Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi. In due time, FSSAI plans to introduce additional languages, including Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, Assamese, Bengali, and Odia in the near future.
FSSAI aims to enhance the user experience for local food businesses, facilitating seamless interaction with the FoSCoS online compliance portal. FSSAI also seeks to empower a broader spectrum of users, encouraging increased engagement and bolstering overall compliance within the food industry. Therefore, it is providing support in multiple regional languages.
It may be recalled that the FoSCoS portal was introduced nationwide in 2020. It has swiftly emerged as a platform for both food businesses and regulatory authorities. The latest addition of regional languages follows the recent launch of the FoSCoS portal in Hindi. This was launch took place on September 14, 2023, commemorating Hindi Diwas.
