The Graduate Medical Education Regulations (GMER), 2023, has laid down conditions and modalities for admission to graduate-level medical education through common counseling. In compliance with these regulations, the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) issued a circular dated October 9, 2023, requesting all medical colleges to upload the details of students admitted for the Academic Year 2023-24 by the original deadline of October 20, 2023.
However, due to an extension of the counseling period by the Supreme Court of India, a subsequent Public Notice was issued, extending the deadline for uploading admission details to November 21, 2023.
Despite these notifications, it has come to the attention of the NMC that only the details of 1,04,891 students admitted for the Academic Year 2023-24 have been uploaded on the portal. In light of this, the NMC emphasizes that only students whose details have been uploaded on the portal will be eligible for registration to practice Modern Medicine/Allopath in India. This is subject to them meeting all other criteria as per rules and regulations.
To facilitate the verification process for students and ensure the accuracy of records, the NMC has made the list of admitted students for the Academic Year 2023-24 available. Students studying MBBS and those admitted for graduate-level medical education are urged to review the list promptly.
Students who find that their names are not reflected in the uploaded list are advised to urgently consult the concerned Directorate of Medical Education or Counseling Authority to address any discrepancies.
The NMC stresses the importance of timely verification to ensure that all eligible students receive proper recognition and registration for the practice of Modern Medicine/Allopath in India.
