The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued clarifications on Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyaan (PM-KUSUM). These clarifications were issued on January 29, 2024.
It may be recalled that MNRE had previously issued an order notifying the comprehensive guidelines on implementation of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyaan (PM-KUSUM).
Through this order MNRE had categorised the guidelines into the following three components:
- Component A: Setting up of 10,000 MW of Decentralised Ground/ Stilt Mounted Grid Connected Solar or other Renewable Energy based Power Plants’
- Component B: Installation of 14 Lakh Stand-alone Solar Agriculture Pumps;
- Component C: Solarisation of 35 Lakh Grid Connected Agriculture Pumps including Feeder Level Solarization
Now, by the present order, the MNRE has confirmed that the requirement of indigenous solar cells (DCR) under Component C of the scheme is relaxed till March 31, 2024.
It is also clarified that the current Central Financial Assistance (CFA) under Component C is as follows:

This allocation will continue until MNRE announces further updates.
Moreover, MNRE has urged State Implementation Authorities to expediate the implementation of the Scheme in their respective states and submit progress reports.
