The Central Government has has officially appointed the 29th of February, 2024, as the date on which several pivotal provisions of the National Dental Commission Act, 2023 shall come into force. This notification was issued on March 1, 2024.

The provisions slated for enforcement on this date encompass sections 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 17, 19, 40, 41, 53, and 58(5) of the National Dental Commission Act, 2023. These sections delineate crucial aspects of the regulatory framework, governance structure, and operational guidelines outlined in the Act.

Among the key areas covered by these provisions are the establishment of the National Dental Commission, the determination of standards for dental education, the formation of Dental Advisory Council, establishment of Autonomous Boards, administrative actions and the formulation of guidelines for the recognition of dental institutions. Additionally, the Act addresses matters related to ethics and penalties, ensuring the maintenance of high standards within the dental profession.

The specified sections coming into force on February 29, 2024, mark a crucial milestone in the implementation of the National Dental Commission Act, fostering a more robust and regulated environment for dental education and practice in India.
