The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Department of Health Research (DHR), in collaboration with the National Medical Commission (NMC), have unveiled “Medical Shodhganga.” A circular on this initiative dated November 2, 2023 was published on November 4, 2023.
The aim of this initiative is to create a repository of Indian Medical Postgraduate theses. These theses will assist aspiring postgraduates in navigating the challenges of selecting thesis topics.
The repository houses a wealth of over 1400 thesis topics across 24 specialties. These topics were meticulously collected through collaboration with faculties, ensuring a diverse and robust selection that covers various aspects of medical research.
The process involved soliciting thesis topics from renowned faculties across the country. These submissions were then carefully refined by a dedicated team of subject experts and ICMR scientists to ensure quality, relevance, and potential for impactful research. The result is a dynamic repository that serves as a valuable resource for postgraduate students facing challenges in selecting appropriate thesis topics.
“Medical Shodhganga” not only facilitates easier access to a wide array of thesis topics but also encourages collaboration and interdisciplinary research. The initiative aligns with the broader goal of fostering a culture of innovation and research excellence within the Indian medical community.
“Medical Shodhganga” stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of ICMR, DHR, and NMC in nurturing the next generation of medical researchers and innovators.
