The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has modified its list of laboratories accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). This notification was issued on December 8, 2023.
These laboratories are notified for the purposes of carrying out analysis of food samples taken in accordance with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
FSSAI has modified the list of laboratories in the Northern, Western and Southern Region of the country. The following are the changes effected by the present notification:
In the Northern Region
For the state of Rajasthan, two new laboratories have been introduced:
- Cultivator Phyto Lab Private Limited, Jodhpur whose scope of accreditation is biological and chemical
- Public Health Laboratory, Churu whose scope of accreditation is chemical
Additionally, for the state of Haryana, the following laboratory has been de-notified:
In the Western Region
For the state of Madhya Pradesh, two new laboratories have been introduced:
- CES Analytical and Research Services India Private Limited, Bhopal
- Pious Laboratories Private Limited, Indore
Both of these Laboratories have accreditation that covers biological and chemical testing.
Additionally, for the state of Maharashtra, the following laboratory has been de-notified:
In the Sothern Region
For the state of Karnataka, SMS Labs Services Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru has been notified.
For the state of Tamil Nadu, Analytical Technology Laboratory, Sri Gomuki Tex Chem Private Limited, Coimbatore has also been notified.
For the state of Telangana,
- Megsan Labs Private Limited, Hyderabad has been deleted and Tentamus India Private Limited, Hyderabad has been introduced. Tentamus India Private Limited has been granted accreditation for biological and chemical testing
- Chemtex Labs India Private Limited, Hyderabad has been introduced.
All of these laboratories in the southern regions have a scope of accreditation that extends to biological and chemical testing.
