The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has launched a dedicated CSR Portal. The portal aims at streamlining the receipt and disposal of CSR requests from various organizations and institutions. A press release on the launch was issued on 7th November, 2023.
It is noteworthy to mention that IREDA is a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. It plays a vital role in achieving Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in combating climate change. It has previously also launched initiatives such as the Whistle Blower Portal launched in 2021. It was the first Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) to provide such an online platform.
The new CSR Portal will be accessible 24×7. It incorporates a CSR policy and proposal checklist, thus providing a comprehensive framework for the examination of CSR requests. This initiative aligns with IREDA’s commitment to transparency and efficiency in executing social welfare initiatives as part of its CSR efforts.
The unveiling of the CSR portal took place during the valedictory function of “Vigilance Awareness Week 2023” at IREDA’s registered office in Delhi. During the function, the company’s unwavering commitment to advancing renewable energy and Corporate Social Responsibility was highlighted. The CSR portal symbolizes IREDA’s dedication to principles of transparency and ethics. It also promotes a paperless approach for better serving communities and stakeholders.
As part of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2023’, IREDA organized various competitions, and winners were honored during the valedictory function, further fostering a culture of integrity and vigilance within the organization.
