The Ministry of Food Processing Industries organized the 2nd Inter-Ministerial Committee Meeting on World Food India-2023 in New Delhi on 30th June, 2023. Chaired by the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, the meeting saw the participation of senior representatives from various Ministries, Departments, and Commodity Boards. Senior officials from key central government ministries and departments were also present.

The meeting focused on discussing the progress made in the preparations for World Food India-2023, which is scheduled to take place from 3rd to 5th November 2023 in New Delhi. This meeting served as a follow-up to the interaction held with the Committee members in May 2023. The Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries highlighted the significant role of respective ministries and departments in creating a conducive ecosystem for infrastructure development, trade, and investment promotion in the food processing sector.

All central ministries and departments confirmed their participation in the event, including exhibition space/stalls, involvement in technical sessions, and engagement in the Reverse Buyer Seller Meet. The participating officers assured their support for various aspects of the event, such as the Buyer Seller Meets/RBSM, engagements with startups, promotion of special Ayush products, and products with One District One Product (ODOP) and Geographical Indication (GI) tags. They also provided updates on the confirmed participation from exporters and buyers, as well as the outreach efforts undertaken by their respective organizations.

The ministries and departments were requested to share the specifics of their plan of action for their participation and partnership in World Food India. Moreover, the Investment Facilitation Cell (Invest India) and the event partner, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), were assigned the responsibility of coordinating with the ministries and departments to facilitate the discussed action plan and seek necessary support from government bodies.

The next meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee is scheduled to be held in July 2023, focusing on the partnership and participation of different stakeholders in World Food India. The meeting highlighted the collaborative efforts of various government entities to ensure the success of the event and promote the growth of the food processing industry in India.
