The National Medical Commission (NMC) has begun issuing Teachers Eligibility Qualification Certificates. These certificates will be issued in accordance with the “Teachers Eligibility Qualification in Medical Institution Regulations, 2022.” A notice on this certification issued on December 1, 2023.

This marks a significant step towards ensuring the highest standards of education and expertise within medical institutions across the country. Under these regulations, applicants must fulfill specific minimum eligibility criteria to be considered for the Teachers Eligibility Qualification Certificate. In cases where the requesting applicant does not meet the prescribed criteria, the NMC communicates a regret letter to the individual, clearly indicating the deficiencies that need to be addressed.

A notable observation made by the NMC is that some applicants submit additional certificates acquired after the initial application submission. These applicants often seek reconsideration of the NMC’s initial decision. To streamline the process and maintain transparency, the NMC has decided to implement a new procedure for such cases.

Henceforth, individuals requesting reconsideration after submitting additional qualifications/ experience/ publications acquired post-initial application submission will be required to submit the requisite fee again. This policy aims to ensure that the NMC evaluates all applications based on the qualifications presented at the time of the initial submission, avoiding potential discrepancies arising from subsequent acquisitions.
