SOP for Recycling of Lead Scrap and Used Lead Acid Batteries
This SOP covers lead acid battery plates, rains, rinks, radio, racks, rakes, ropes, rono, rents, relay, rails and other lead scrap/ ashes/ residues, etc. The SOP specifies the requirements for seeking permission for import of lead scrap and used lead acid batteries for recycling.

CPCB categorizes Tyre Pyrolysis Oil Industries under its Harmonization of Classification of Industrial Sectors
The categorization of TPO industries into red, orange, green, and white categories will enable better regulation and control of the environmental impact of these facilities. All SPCBs and PCCs have been directed to adopt and implement this classification for Tyre Pyrolysis Oil industries.
CPCB Requests E-waste Stakeholders To Register On Online Portal
CPCB has developed an online EPR Portal for management of e-waste. Hence, all producers, manufacturers, recyclers and refurbishes of e-waste are requested register on this portal by December 31, 2023.
Delhi Enforces Stage-III of GRAP As Air Quality Plummets
Sub-Committee has decided to re-invoke all actions under Stage-III of GRAP. CPCB Offers Specialized Training Programs for Financial Year 2023-24
The training programs are designed for a diverse range of professionals involved in pollution control and environmental management. Target groups include Pollution Control Boards/Committees, Environmental Departments and Ministries, Municipalities, Public Health Departments, Environmental Laboratories, Industries, Hospitals, Industrial Associations, NGOs, and other relevant government departments engaged in pollution prevention, control, or abatement.
New Enhanced Rates of Financial Support for Torrefaction Plants
The maximum financial assistance for setting up of torrefaction plant is raised from INR 28 lakh to INR 56 lakh per Ton Per Hour (TPH) production capacity or 40% of capital cost for plant and machinery of one TPH plant, whichever is lower. Moreover, the amount of total financial assistance was also enhanced from INR 1.4 crore per proposal to INR 2.8 crore per proposal.
