Nursing Institutions Face Stringent Fines For Operating On Single Campus
The Indian Nursing Council (INC) has stated that during its surprise inspections it has observed that there are several nursing institutions functioning in the same campus. INC has emphasised that this amounts to a violation of its norms and guidelines. Hence, in a meeting dated January, 2024, the INC has taken the decision to penalise erring institutions. It has decided to impose a penalty of Rs 5 lakh per institution.

Renewal of Suitability of Nursing Educational Institutions for Academic Year 2024-2025
The status of the applications/ suitability renewal letter will be posted online only and can be accessed by the institution by logging in with the application ID and password. The applications can be submitted from January 15, 2024 through INC website. The last date for submitting the application online is March 30, 2024.
No Fees To Be Charged For Continuing Nursing Education
The INC has therefore categorically stated that SNRCs shall not charge any fees from either the nursing institutions conducting CNEs or from nurses. Additionally, the INC will launch a portal for uploading information by nursing institutions on the CNE. The SNRCs will be able to use the portal to check the CNE details of the nurses and renew their registrations.
