NMC notifies online counselling for NEET PG Courses
The NMC has announced that all State Counselling Agencies should make necessary arrangements for conducting the counselling in online mode. This is applicable to all rounds of counselling, including stray vacancy round in Private Medical Colleges from academic year 2023-2024.
Clarification on Recognition/Continuation of Recognition(CoR) of MBBS degree for the year 2022-23
In view of the upcoming counseling schedule for NEET-UG 2023, the Medical Colleges and Institutions that were awaiting recognition or confirmation of registration (CoR) until the year 2023 and have not received any specific denial or admission stoppage communication for the academic year 2023-24 from the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) or the NMC, have been granted recognition for a period of one year only, namely the academic year 2022-23.
National Exit Test (NEXT) Examination Deferred Until Further Notice
The notice states that the deferment of the NExT is based on the advice of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) that was issued on 11th July, 2023.
NMC clarifies on Recognition and Continuance of Recognition for One Year
NMC has now considered the hardships faced by medical students in obtaining permanent registration in the absence of recognised medial qualifications. It has therefore clarified that the recognition and continuance of recognition granted in 2023 for MBBS batches includes those batches admitted up to 2018-2019.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has published details of students admitted through NEET PG 2021, NEET PG 2020 and NEET SS 2022, NEET SS 2021.

NExT will be a comprehensive examination that will serve as a Licentiate Examination and an entrance examination for postgraduate medical education in India. The NExT will be conducted by the NMC or an appropriate body or authority approved by the NMC.

Draft National Medical Commission (Minimum Standard Requirements for Establishment of New Medical Colleges/ Increase of seats in MBBS Course) Regulations, 2023
The regulations will be applicable to medical colleges approved for admitting MBBS students annually. They outline the minimum requirements for accommodation in the college and its associated teaching hospitals, as well as the necessary staff (teaching and technical) and equipment in various college departments and hospitals.
Draft National Medical Commission (Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education) Regulations, 2023
These regulations contemplate an annual disclosure report to be submitted by medical colleges and medical institutions to the UGMEB or the PGMEB, as the case may be. The Boards will then evaluate these reports to verify if the medical colleges or medical institutions satisfy the conditions or regulations issued by NMC from time to time.
NMC withdraws Guidelines under Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023
The NMC has emphatically declared that the Guidelines under Graduate Medical Education Regulations 2023, stands “WITHDRAWN AND CANCELLED” with immediate effect.
