Guidelines for Tariff Based Competitive Bidding Process for Procurement of Power from Grid Connected Solar PV Power Projects
The key objective behind these guidelines is to reduce the overall power purchase costs for distribution licensees, which constitute the largest cost element. By introducing competitive bidding in the procurement process, the government aims to facilitate the development of power markets and subsequently lower electricity prices, leading to substantial benefits for consumers.
MNRE extends timeline for Self-Certification of SPV Inverters under Quality Control Order, 2017
The ministry has provided this extension on account of the limited availability of test facilities and in order to provide additional time for compliance with the QCO. Thus the implementation of Quality Control Order, 2017 for SPV inverters (items 4-5) stands extended from 30th June, 2023 to 31st December, 2023 or till further orders, based on self- certification.
MNRE further updates the Approved List of Solar Photovoltaic Modules
The Ministry has taken action against Solar PV Module Manufacturers whose models’ validity expired on 09.03.2023 and failed to apply for renewal on or before the specified date. Such manufacturers have been delisted from the ALMM List.
MNRE Updates List of Approved Solar Photovoltaic Module Manufacturers and Models
The updated list includes only those models of Solar PV Module Manufacturers that meet the stringent BIS Standards and boast a minimum module efficiency of 19% or higher.
Solar Park Scheme Timeline Extended till FY2025-26
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has extended the timeline of the Solar Park Scheme until the fiscal year 2025-26, specifically until 31st March, 2026. This extension comes without any additional financial implications, ensuring continuity and support for the solar energy sector in India.
Waiver of Inter-State Transmission Charges on transmission of electricity generated from Solar and Wind Energy
According to the present Order, renewable energy projects falling under para 3.1 (i), (ii), and (iii) of the Order dated 23th November, 2021 and in accordance with the Order dated 30th November, 2021 are eligible for the waiver of inter-state transmission charges. These projects, with their scheduled date of commissioning on or before 30th June, 2025, can now benefit from an extension of time granted by the MNRE.
