NMC Addresses Admission Eligibility Concerns for NEET-UG Test
Candidates are now allowed to undertake the study of requisite subjects as additional subjects after passing Class 12th from recognized boards. Such candidates will be eligible to appear in the NEET-UG Test and qualify for the grant of Eligibility Certificates. Candidates becoming eligible after the public notice date will be permitted to appear in NEET-UG 2024.
Extension in NEET UG 2023 Admission Deadline
All NEET UG 2023 eligible candidates are now informed about the extension of the last date for admission to undergraduate courses to November 15, 2023. November 15, 2023. Moreover, the schedule for the opening of the portal for uploading joined candidates has been extended until November 20, 2023.
NMC to Implement Seat Allocation Ratio in UG Seats
By implementing this seat allocation ratio, there remains ample room for an approximate addition of 40,000 MBBS seats across the country, provided that medical colleges are distributed evenly. This potential expansion stands to benefit aspiring medical students and the healthcare sector as a whole.

NMC clarifies on Recognition and Continuance of Recognition for One Year
NMC has now considered the hardships faced by medical students in obtaining permanent registration in the absence of recognised medial qualifications. It has therefore clarified that the recognition and continuance of recognition granted in 2023 for MBBS batches includes those batches admitted up to 2018-2019.
UGMEB issues clarifications on Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023
The UGMEB states that previous procedures/ rules (as per Information Bulletin by NTA) will be followed for deciding the “inter-se-merit of candidates for tie-breaking”. This will be utilised for NEET-UG 2023 result. Additionally, the notice also amends the Eligibility criteria for taking NEET-UG.
